Being an avid reader I'm often being told by friends that "You Must Read This Book, It's Great."
Then to my great disappointment the book turns out to be mind numbingly boring, or so trashy that it should be wearing fishnets and no panties.
Well I'm going to break a rule of a lifetime and recommend a book to others.
The book is "Industry and Ideology : I. G. Farben in the Nazi Era by Peter Hayes"
I agree the title doesn't immediately make you want to rush for your credit card and go chasing to the bookshop, but believe me when I say this is a book that everyone should read before they die.
Superbly written, but what really makes this book stand out from the crowd is the amazing amount of work the author undertook to get as much information about an incredibly complex, and politically sensitive moment in history.
This is simply a master class in investigative journalism.
Read it.
