Although this slice of alternative reality is supposed to be volume three of a trilogy, it can be read as a stand alone novel.
I liked it better than the other two as well, as it mutates into a classic Science fiction book about half way through. You know, space ships and space and journeys to planets other than good old terra firma.
The only thing that spoiled it for me, was that the author seems to be obsessed with sex. What makes it work is he is very keen to describe perverted sex as well. For this reason I am unable to recommend the novel. Which is a shame as it is a reasonable yarn
