Another excellent romance is the novel Twilight by U.S. author Stephenie Meyer. This fitting tribute to the gothic-romance novel's of old fuses the soul of that genre whilst adding a modern-day supernatural twist.

And for those who just can't get enough from just Twilight, there're also several sequel books...

Will, I think we should stick with the one suggestion per member rule...

So, Death on the Nile, right?

Anne Rice-Exit to Eden (please keep in mind the infamous film version is very different from Rice's novel)

There is Lisa: They call her the Perfectionist. A stunning, mysterious, and fearless sexual adventurer, she is founder and supreme mistress of The Club--an expensive, exclusive island resort where forbidden fantasy meets willing flesh.
There is Elliott: A thrill-seeking photographer who has risked his life in war zones around the world. Now he is committed to the ultimate plunge into personal risk--exploring his darkest sexual self.
Join them on a journey to the limits of erotic pleasure and beyond. Surrender to the tantalizing wonders of the imagination behind the spellbinding sensuality of The Vampire Chronicles. Take leave of the world you know--and step into Eden. . . .

The madness!

WINGED PRIESTESS by Joyce Verrette

"In a land that worshiped the Sun, passion ruled the nights. Queen Nefrytatanen: Her beauty rivaled the most precious jewels and her love for her husband, King Amenemhet of Tamera, knew no bounds. But to keep his love and conquer her mortal jealousy she would surrender herself to the gods in a dangerous ritual, a ritual that would make her a "winged" priestess - or condemn her to madness forever...

Ilbaya: Of noble birth, he was taken as a slave by enemies of his father. Neither beatings nor degradation could tame him - he was obsessed with freedom. Then he met his master's concubine, the beautiful Lyra, and suddenly found himself forced to make a strange bargain with the King of Tamera for his liberty, his love, and his life..."
