The Sand Bluff Murders

Since I can't afford a publicist, I reckon guess and calculate I'll have to down a couple of beers and toot my own horn.
I've been writing noir/crime/mystery novels for almost 11 years now. If you have any interest at all, you can read about them at http://www.cm-albrecht.webs.com All are available as e-books and some are also in print. Just here I thought I'd jot down a few syllables about my latest mystery, The Sand Bluff Murders.
Jonas McCleary is a young fellow, not too big or robust, who nevertheless ends up as a policeman. He quickly learns that being a uniformed police officer isn't that great. He nearly gets run over, he nearly gets knifed trying to break up a domestic dispute, and he's pretty tired of dealing with drunks, and shoplifters.
When, a few years later, Jonas sees a chance to become a detective in the tiny village of Sand Bluff, he jumps at it. He'll be able to wear plain clothes, enjoy life and, with his new status — he's going on thirty — he hopes he may just meet Miss Right.
Sand Bluff, a wide spot in the road, long ago bypassed by the freeway, is a town so quiet that the most excitment it's ever had was, according to one local, the day back in '62 whenever that Elvis tour had to stop in town to fix a flat.
All that's about to change however. On his third day as detective, before Jonas has even had a chance to get to know anyone, a homicide victim is found in an alley behind The Blu Lite.
Okay, nobody knows the victim, so maybe it was some out-of-town thing that just happened in Sand Bluff. Jonas knows full well he's a lot better at passing written tests than he is at investigating murders, but hey, it's his job. Besides, it's probably nothing to do with Sand Bluff at all. And in the meantime, he thinks he may just have found Miss Right.
The very next day however, Twyla Peters, Sand Bluff's resident hussy, is found lying in a pool of blood. Now the out-of-town mystery has come back home.
This is just the start of a string of unexpected events and murders that have Jonas hopping around town trying to get to know people and figure out what is going on. And the deeper he digs, the darker the tunnel ahead.
Finally Jonas begins to see the light, but now he has a new problem. is trying He has to stay alive long enough to bring a killer to justice.
