I read this book when I was younger, The story that I can remember is a girl that survives a nuclear fallout and living at home. Later in the story she finds another surviver and comes to her house. This guy is a scientist with giger counters and the whole shebang, later he does something and is hot and goes for a swim, only at her house there are two bodies of water one is contaminated and the other is clean this guy swims in the contaminated on and become very sick, and ultimaltly goes mad. The girl is force to take her .22 and live in a cave. I can't remember the title...can anyone help?
