Updated Membership Agreement

Following recent problems with certain members, we have updated our membership agreement to confirm our policy with regards to warnings and banning of members from the site.

We have added the following to the agreement.

2.8 The Book Forum operates a "three-strikes" policy. Unfortunately, in an online community of our size, there will ocassionally be the need for the site administrators to take action against a member for continued non-compliance with the rules and guidelines of this site. "Three Strikes & You’re Out" simply means that you are given three "chances" before your account is disabled. Two official warnings will come from site moderators, and will state the offense and ask politely that you adhere to site guidelines. The third note will be from the site admininstrator and will result in a permanent, irreversible ban from the site.

Over the past few weeks, we have noticed several members constantly antagonising other members and pushing the rules to their limits, publically cristicising administrative decisions and posting sarcastic comments whenever the site's rules are enforced.

Unfortunately we have had to ban several members from the site due to their continued abuse of the rules. This is not an action we take lightly, but The Book Forum is a private forum which has certain rules and standards. Not everyone will agree with these, but they are our rules and we stand by them. This is not a public domain site where anyone can post whatever they feel like regardless of the consequences. We try to create a friendly, family atmosphere where everyone can feel welcome, regardless of their race, background or beliefs.
