Wondered if anyone could help
When i was a youngstar I read a fairly disturbing book about these halfing type charcters than lived on the wandle

can anyone shed any light as to what the name of the boook might have been?

The Wombles, perhaps? I loved the television show as a kid . Didn't find it "disturbing", though!!
