What is Academic Writing ?

i've a question
what is Academic writing and what is use of it Book Writing ? Is it totally based on research facts and is it like publishing a research of some information and turn it into a Book.

I was going to offer my opinion on what academic writing is but then I decided to look it up on the Wikipedia.

Good question.
My first guess was that it was college textbook writing.

I found this short and concise definition:
"Academic writing refers to a particular style of expression that scholars use to define the boundaries of their disciplines and their areas of expertise."

I think the answer to your question is: "academic writing" is writing intended for an "audience of academics,"
Which we at BAR collectively are not.
(All terms are defined in the article.)
The article itself seems to be written in academic writing.
