I'm so happy that MY Senator from the great state of Illinois won! It was a historic event here in Chicago. I could not stop crying last night and I'm still very weepy today. I'm so proud of him. Obama did a great job getting first time voters to the polls. I voted very early yesterday morning and it only took a half hour at 6:30am! I didn't mind the wait, it was worth it.

We out here were a bit weepy too, I must say. There was a bit of spontaneous public joy, even in our little town. Nearly all speechifying was memorable, historical, high road kind of stuff. Very happy. Very happy.
