City of God
I've been hearing out this movie for a long time, and since it got released this week on dvd i finally got the chance to purchase it. The film is set in Rio de Janeiro and centers around the street gangs in 'The City of God'. It begins early on in the lives of the characters...
the change in directors made a world of difference. i'm a fan of the first two films, but this installment is by far the best of the bunch. from start to finish i enjoyed it, and highly reccomend it. if i were to rank the films now i'd go...
1. Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Harry...
i just came from seeing this at 12:00 and damn was the theatre packed. i guess the holiday weekend had to do something with it. anyways, it was pretty much what i expected.... just an average flick. the cgi was amazing though, and worth paying five bucks to check out.
6/10
i've noticed that many of you seem to frequent the library a lot. please don't tell me that i'm the only one that doesn't own a library card. i usually go to barnes & nobles once or twice a month and just pick up the books that i want. it sucks sometimes because every now and then i pay for...

i've noticed that there were a lot of mixed feelings on the first two installments in the series. i personally liked both movies, and i'm curious how many people plan on going to see the Prizoner of Azkaban. i like what i see in the new trailer. the darker theme in this one should be pretty...

if they're are any around here i reccomend you to check out Bubba Ho-Tep if you get the chance. i watched it earlier today and it was absolutely hillarious. despite the wacky plot, Campbell & Ozzie Davis are able to make it work. the performances are great, and it's a really fun & entertaining...
"In 1970, one of Mississippi's more colorful weekly newspapers, The Ford County Times, went bankrupt. To the surprise and dismay of many, ownership was assumed by a 23 year-old college dropout, named Willie Traynor. The future of the paper looked grim until a young mother was brutally raped and...

i would get involved with the may/june discussion of War & Peace, but i have no desire to read it whatsoever lol. i was looking at the previous list of books and you guys have gone over some nice titles. my mistake if the july-dec titles have already been posted, i might have...

i love Grisham books and i really enjoyed 'A Painted House' despite it not being a legal thriller. i'm just curious has anyone seen the movie and how true to the novel it is. i'm sure i'll rent it regardless but i'd still like to hear some opinions if anyone has any.

i'm not one to easily give up on a book, but unfortunately i think it's time to retire 'Black House' by Stephen King & Peter Straub permanently. i've had the book for ages now, but everytime i try to read it i become painfully bored and put it back on the shelf. the narration in the book is...
how's it going everyone? i've been looking around for a decent book discussion forum for a while, and this place is definitely what i had in mind. i love the layout here. there's not a lot of clutter, the color scheme isn't blinding, & you seem to have a pretty solid member base. nice, nice...
