This is the Spotted Eagle Owl. It is a medium sized owl approximately 45 cm long. They have a distinctive call with the male issuing a long HooHOOoo and the female answers with three short, soft hoo hoo hoo's. This is the male who is the larger of the pair.
Owls are awesome!
