Nowadays I use Linux using the ODT format which I compile the wording of my eBooks in and where I add photos compiled in Canva.
I then export them to a PDF.
I'd also export them to ePUB, but, after endless attempts, I can never get the ePUB format to display my eBooks correctly, and to try to fix the display requires coding, which I'm not well up on. eBook converters don't work properly and eBook validators confirm the incorrect displays.
Once I get downloads, I'll hopefully get ratings and reviews of each eBook, as I know that ratings and reviews can increase each author's chances of sales, but I thought that I'd run past you two versions of my Cure eBook cover photo. The original size dimension photo is on the left.
I'm probably not alone in thinking this, but whenever I add photos, I am never sure whether to partially or fully stretch photos to fit the whole page (or reduce them, if I have text below or above each photo), or whether to keep them at the Canva size, which tends to be a fraction of the page (about a third), leaving the rest blank.
As I'm new to the forum, I'm unsure what the maximum size dimension is for each photo on Book & Reader, but I've become aware that websites embed photos.
I'll happily resize them to make them larger, once I know the dimensions, but as you'll see from the existing size (Pinterest 1000x1000px dimensions), the vertical photo is stretched.
When I have more money, I'll have more flexibility to outsource ideas that are related or unrelated to eBooks, as Marketing and getting sales are my biggest barrier, which I know is very commonplace with many authors, but here are two examples of my Cure eBook's front cover.
Do you normally stretch photos in your eBooks to fit the page?, or which width and height dimensions do you use to display your photos?
Which of these two cover photos do you prefer?
