BAR members are of different nationalities; some of us could have lived or studied in other countries.
Generally, every country has authors /poets who have earned a special place in the hearts of its people and, more often than not, these are the writers who speak in a universally understood voice.
This thread is meant to introduce such writers and their works to members so that we all may share in this common heritage of humanity.
I am introducing two great voices from India.
Rabindranath Tagore (1861 to 1941): Poet, playwright, novelist, painter, singer and humanist, he was the one who gave Gandhi the sobriquet, 'Mahatma (Great Soul).
Most of his works are available on the net. Here is a link to his poems.
