50 Words or Less: Turn your head and write

This is a writing game to get your imagination flowing or to take a break from any serious writing activities. Type or handwrite this assignment in poetry or prose, in any style or form. I am using Microsoft Word since it has a word count feature.

As you write, try not to over think the assignment. Just put down the words as they come to you; it doesn’t have to make sense; you can rewrite them later if your wish.

The reason for the fifty word limit is to entice you to write something without getting bogged down in too much detail or struggling to write more.
If you are inspired to expand your piece, great!

From where you are sitting, reading this thread,
turn your head to the left or right and describe what you see in fifty words or less.

A drawing table – white surfaced particle board, black edging, 30° tilt, poised on black metal adjustable tubing. The neglected reading material scattered atop negates the table’s intended purpose.

The White Lady sobs.
Her tears flutter on wings of snow,
Cascading to the Earth.
They plummet, faster, faster, 'til
They ricochet on land.

The wings dissolve,
And from their ashes we are born.
We are Her children,
And we follow her tears,
To live, always falling.

I like this game. Quite fun to think of something in only 50 words. That twas very difficult (I always over-describe! :D)

Peace and quiet. An ambience perfect to be fully immersed in another world. The blue spine on the bookshelf is awaiting to be picked up. A gentle brush sent a tinge of excitement through the fingers. For now, rest a while more. A voice beckons and I'm back to reality.

The morning light slips between the gap of wall and curtain.
A thin sliver illuminates the dust.
Tiny stars float in my room; motes of dander and mites.

wow...exactly fifty!

I spy a room vibrating with tension. A space far too small, the room seems to sag, laden with the glare of sixteen monitors, one constant television and many bad attitudes. It holds quite the pair, the fool and the witch. They alternate bad decisions and bitching about others’ incompetence.

Thanks, Occlith. I'm gonna try again. It's kind of fun!

The last time I visited here, my pilgimage was incomplete. Now I settle on inconsistent failures, a trepid tour my medicinal therapy. Synchronizing herbal aromas with sanitary pinpricks, I do not change. I relapse to how I once was, inept and unreliable. Simply, I am finally healed.

A wedding reception, clad in black and white and spots of crimson, a pair of lips. A cheating husband looking at the young brunette smirking at the other end. It's one more moment, one more lie to weave. A vengeful wife. A bit of poison. Instant gratification.

I must say : not that easy ! But really a good game ! Good idea !
Word writes 50 words exactly :
I see my eyes being lost in some dreams by the night.
I’m hypnotized by the letters on a screen that try to charm my eyes.
But I won’t let it win for I want my sleep light.
But as I’m still there to my conscience I must say lies.

Darkness - could only be broken by light
Silence - could only be broken by sound

Not a great result, but only 27 words in a 5 minute break, well i enjoyed it anyway :)

Numerous holes in the walls that once supported documents no longer valid, calendars, maps and shelves lined with textbooks are all overshadowed by the teddy bear, so lovingly given by a favorite niece, and the bulletin board holding the truly important documents: images of friends and family smiling at me.

I need a washer!!!!!!!!!!!!

The laundromat. Kids running around, where the hell are their parents? God, I want to leave. My dryer is spinning, and spinning. Red, blue, black and white. WHITE! How did a white get in there? CRAP! I Hope its not my new tank top. Where are their parents?!?!
