what's your favorite classical book you've read?

Classics have never been my favorite books to read. But I will say that I have read Dracula which is still my favorite. Read Frankenstien too.

The Count of Monte Cristo and I've also taken a shine to Jane Eyre, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and The Phantom of the Opera.

I think it was something from Jules Verne, but I am not sure which one. Followed closely by most of the Sherlock Holmes stories.

Jane Eyre has to top the list of my favorite classics. The War of the Worlds as well. I suppose Gone With the Wind is considered a classic nowadays as well, another favorite.

I didn't care for Wuthering Heights though and Dracula was so male-domineering-annoying it failed my test as well. Even so, I'm glad I read it. :D

Prisoner Of Zenda by Anthony Hope . I have the fondest memories about reading it when I was a child. Sadly, I haven't re-read it ever since.

You have three that I like right there! Only Phantom, have I missed.

I originally read Phantom in high school, but I forgot most of it (which probably had something to do with zipping through it for the Accelerated Reader points). I read it again a couple of years ago and LOVED it! I actually have two copies because I came across a beautifully illustrated edition in the used bookshop for eight dollars. Despite having a mass market at home, I wanted the pretty pictures version sitting on my shelf too. :flowers:

Incredible! Kindle edition of Phantom of the Opera, free!

My kind of price. :)

Thanks Fantasy Moon. I'm looking forward to it.

I loved Crime and Punishment. Also Breakfast at Tiffanys and 1984 and Brave New World. OOh and Lord of the Flies. I keep remembering more as I type!
