Looking for YA ebooks

Need a good new series or even a nonseries would be ok. Something with some dark and some humor and a real plot. I hate the word "romance" cuz it makes me think of ballroom dancing or somethin, but I guess I like love stuff in a book. And I like ebooks.
I just finished one of the best YA ebooks I ever read, but it's a series and the 2nd book isn't out yet. So now I've got this big void of unknowing (and wait time) and need something else. Doesn't mean I'm sorry I read the book tho -- Ghosted by Laura Sue Gardner. Now that was good. Ghosts and kinda dark fantasy type stuff is good. Like I've read all the House of Night books, Twilight, Hunger Games, Stephen Cole;s books. But then I read some kinda real books too like Clean-- that was good, Preordained, some Kelly Lissack, I think it was.

But cheap and ebook works for me. I got a job so I can pay some, but cheaper is better.

What's a good ebook series?

How do you feel about vampires? I've only read the first book in the series but the second is out and I think the story is pretty promising. It starts with Confessions of a Teenage Half-Vampire by Lisa Shafer. Very good, and dark in some spots. Funny in others.

Try Reapers by A.J. Sloan, it's the first in a new series, but it's pretty good. The next book comes out sometime in May, I think. It's got the whole demons and romance thing.

My favorite Vampire Series is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, I swear it's better than Twilight. There are 7 books in the series, and so far it has a spin-off series called Bloodlines with a further 3 books so far with more to come. Highly recommend it. I've read all the books you've listed and more need another suggestion, just send me a pm, whoops it's called a "Conversation" now :)

Check out ABOVE by Mackie Burt. She's a 20 year old writer who wrote the book when she was 16. It has all the elements you're looking for: great characters, compelling story and just enough young romance. Here's a quick summary:

Callie Lane is your typical all-American teenager, struggling with issues of love and jealousy, boys, schoolwork, picking out the right clothes, right vs. wrong, good vs. evil and navigating her way through the straits of “growing up.” The only difference is that Callie is dead. And her world is now ABOVE.
When 17 year-old Callie’s life is suddenly cut short, she “wakes up” ABOVE, and soon discovers it’s not exactly what she expected. Still reeling from the fact that she is, in fact, no longer living, Callie learns that she’s also part of a select group of recently-passed teens fated to become Guardians.

Not only does Callie have to go to Guardian school, her dead grandmother happens to be the headmistress and the curriculum includes revisiting every mistake she’s ever made. And since no one seems to want to give her a straight answer about anything -- including the mysterious empty room next to hers -- Callie comes to realize that life ABOVE is even more confusing than the life she just left behind.

I personally like all of John Green's books. They include "Looking For Alaska", "The Fault in our Stars", "Paper Towns", and a few more. If you enjoy books that make you feel like you know exactly what the main character is going through, then these are perfect. I laughed, I cried, it moved me.
