Aliens, The Definitive Guide

Was just reading that there will be a two hour show tonight on the Discovery channel about Aliens and wondered if any of the BAR people had any thoughts on the subjects of UFO's, extra-terrestrials, or even knew of people who were sure they had experienced something 'other-wordly'.

Yes but if you have the technology to fly a gazillion miles across space ... why bother with anal probing and all the secret abductions and mysterious flyby's? Makes no sense unless it is teenage aliens who drink.

Maybe anal probes are popular alien pron.

Personally, I keep hoping for Autobots and Decepticons to reveal themselves.

there is no try, there is only do or do not

One of my favourite bits of advice in the universe :)

Does no one have any anecdotes from friends or neighbours who have had some experience with UFO's or unusual happenings - no one in my neighbourhood has ever mentioned anything - it hasn't come up in conversation - we mostly talk gardening and weather.

If extraterrestrials exist, I would hope they're smart enough to avoid a species that seems to be hellbent on self destruction.

We're the only species that we know of that is properly technologically sentient and I think it's an evolutionary poisoned chalice. We have had this intelligent evolved brain for tens of thousands of years but we've inherited powerful animal drives that have been around for millions.

The question is are we properly intelligent or are we just smarter than average apes playing out the drives of a troupe right across the world?

I don't know any animals that destroy their environment, poison their air and water and wipe out entire species and ecosystems
