We all have that one book. That book we want but have a hard time shelling out the money to buy it.

What book is it for you?

Mine is Field Grey Uniforms of the Imperial German Army, 1907-1918.

No, Julia's Kitchen Wisdom is just expensive for its type. That being said, I don't have a lot of pricey books in my Amazon wishlist.

$21 for hardcover and $12 for softcover. Price seems to be in the normal range. Although it is only 160 pages. I think I see your point.

Huh, the copy I had listed was about $16 and today it is just over $11. I think I might buy it now. :) Like I said, it was odd that it was my most expensive book in my wish list. Things will get crazier when I add the Mastering the Art of French Cooking box set.

Are you ready for tantalizing excitement? No? Good. For my entry to this thread is underwhelming:

Decision Points by George W. Bush ($28.52, Hardcover)

In my defense, I have been living outside the United States for two years and don't use Amazon anymore.

Mine is ,Birds of America, $389-$450 on Amazon! What really gets me is I had a chance to get it for about $90 a year or so ago and did not :(

I hate it when that happens.

When I lived in Virginia, I would go to Civil War relic shows and at one show I saw a book that a I wanted called
Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies. Actually, it was the reprint. It was $85 so I passed on it. I saw it again for sale by the same dealer at another show later that year for $95. I remarked that it was $85 at the last show and he replied that the next time I saw it that it would be $105. So I bought it for $95. The next year I was in Barnes & Nobel and saw a B&N branded reprint of it for $19.95. ugh.
