Hi guys,

I'm looking for some preferably fictional novel/series, preferably not set in the real world (like post-apocalyptic, dystopian, sci-fi, fantasy setting would be much better). Also, I would like characters to be grey and ambiguous (not only true-hero and true-villain). Also, I would like the story to be surprising and unpredictable (death of main characters etc.). For example, I absolutely adored Martin's Song of Ice and Fire and I quite like Abercrombie's First Law trilogy which I'm currently reading. To give example of what I didn't like is King's The Dark Half mainly because it has that very strict pointing-out who is hero and who is villain and because most of suspense happens towards the end of book.

Thanks.

Hi, I know you may not even be on this website anymore but The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts is a really good adventure. I know she isn't an author you would expect to read but it is a good vampire, werewolves, and lots of magic books. I didn't see some quick turns the story took but I own the series now, I love them :star5:!

I'm reading 'There Once Were Stars' by Melanie McFarlane and loving it so far.

You could also check out these series along the same lines:

Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss
The Black Company by Glen Cook
Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
