February 2010: Alice Sebold: The Lovely Bones

Landslide, I agree with you that it was a extraordinary act of kindness from Ruth, but I think that Susie's actions were very selfish. She spends all her time with Ray and doesn't try to communicate with her family until its too late. I agree with Sanyuja too Susie should have used this...

Google: We will bring books back to life

This part caught my attention from the article: Corporations don't usually invest money/research/time into projects that they won't make money off of, and I can't see Google doing this without having monetary expectations to make it worth their while. Ultimately Google will make money off...

    Stephenie Meyer

I'm not sure what was funnier the email the girl wrote or the comments. Either way this girl needs to shake her head, she even says in the article that its a remake!!! I doubt she's ever heard of Vlad the Impaler or Dracula.....maybe they were horrific adaptations of Stephanie Meyer's books too.

JK Rowling being sued for plagiarism

If I'm not mistaken this isn't the first person who's tried to claim that J.K. Rowling stole their idea. I remember watching a biography she did a few years ago, before the first movie came out and she mentioned it on there. The lawsuit is claiming that its the fourth Harry Potter book that...

James Patterson and Martin Dugard: The Murder of King Tut

Thanks for the link Beer Good! I knew that they were doing more testing to see if they could determine once and for all what killed Tut, but I hadn't seen that article yet. The Butcher, I've read some of his Alex Cross books, so I knew he wrote in first person. But in this book, James...

    Shutter Island

I just picked up this book on the weekend, I didn't even realize that the movie was based on a book until I saw it on the shelf. I'm reading it now, I'll let you know how I like it.

James Patterson and Martin Dugard: The Murder of King Tut

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section. If not I apologize. I just recently finished this, it was done in three parts: Tut's life, the discovery of Tut's tomb and James Patterson's perspective on writing this. The first two parts are written as a historical account of the...

February 2010: Alice Sebold: The Lovely Bones

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started reading this other than Susie was murdered. I was a little disappointed that the murderer is never caught, she says that Mr Harvey can feel the spirits of the murdered girls and I was half expecting him to either confess to relieve the guilt or...

    Hi everyone

I'm new. I love to read and most times I have a hard time putting down a novel to go to bed lol. I browsed this site last week and saw you guys and gals were discussing The Lovely Bones, so I pulled it off my bookshelf and started reading. Can't wait to post some reviews.
