When is your prime reading time?

At night before bed when everything from the day has calmed down. That can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Also, I read at my on campus job (I'm in college), and sometimes on campus when I have breaks that are not big enough to justify going home.

Any really, really, really long books that you would recommend?

    What books have you hated?

I know exactly what you mean. It took a lot of effort to finish The Plot Against America. Like you said, it wasn't a bad book, but for whatever reason it was a real struggle to finish it.

Recommendations on good fantasy epic series/trilogies?

I haven't ever been a huge fan of fantasy, but recently a friend of mine lent be a copy of the first book in the George RR Martin series, and I loved it. Now I'm looking for advice on more solid epic series or trilogies that I can look for. Please recommend which ones are worth reading. Also...

    sci-fi recommendations

I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I just finished up Peter F. Hamilton's Commonwealth Saga, which consists of these two books: Pandora's Star Judas Unchained These novels have a little bit of everything you could ask for in a sci-fi novel. In terms of...

Any really, really, really long books that you would recommend?

I forgot to add these. The Winds of War War and Rememberence Both of these are by Herman Wouk, and end up being about 2000 pages total (around 1000 pages each). Its an amazing story of the family of a Navy Officer, beginning in the mid 1930's and going on until the end of World War II. I...

    What books have you hated?

In terms of popular fiction, I'd have to say The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum. I really enjoyed the movie and decided to give the book a try, since usually a novel blows the film out of the water. The book was just....blah. I found myself having a really hard time finishing it. For more...

What are some good ebook readers (free if possible) for a Palm PDA?

I got a Palm T|X recently, and I've been wanting to read e-books with it. While I prefer a real book in my hand, having an ebook on a PDA is just so convient. Plus, I do not really get all that tired after reading my PDA for a while like I do when reading stuff on my PC. Anyways, that said...

Good novels you recommend that were published in the last 5-10 years

Well...I don't have a set criteria...but I'll do the best I can. The genres I enjoy.....historical fiction, sci/fi (i dont really care for fantasy that much), mystery, thrillers, not so big on the romance. Other than that, I am always up for a good solid character driven novel. I tend to...

Good novels you recommend that were published in the last 5-10 years

Looks good so far. To be honest with you I haven't heard of any of those except Middlesex. I guess I need to look harder for books. Hows The Kite Runner? Thats a book I've considered reading here lately.

Good novels you recommend that were published in the last 5-10 years

Apparently since many of the books I read are popular fiction, I have no taste, so I need to be enlightened about what are some good novels written in the last 5-10 years that I could read? What is actually considered "good"? Please list any books you recommend. Thanks.

    Alternate History

I haven't read these yet, so I can't vouch for their quality, but John Birmingham is writing a trilogy about 21st century weapons being introduced in World War II (I think via time travel...not sure). The trilogy is called the Axis of Time. Book 1: Weapons of Choice...

    Reading bestsellers

I am reading a Grisham book because I enjoy them. I am not reading it because I'm a sheep who only follows the masses as you are trying to assume. Did the novel catch my eye? Yes, because I enjoy his books and legal thrillers in general.
