    The Official Book Censorship Thread

Hmmm, the title of that book, "Ethical Marxism", is either redundant or an oxymoron, depending on your view point. Just an observation. :whistling:

    The depressing news about antidepressants

Anxiety and depression meds are to treat the physical symptoms of the disorder. Therapy is needed to get to the root of the problem. And once you learn where the problem lies, self-therapy will be a constant in your life. There is no "miracle" cure that can be provided by either a pill or a...

Of course, I picked my own selection, but I wouldn't mind Water For Elephants. It's on my bookshelf yet to be read.

The Little Country by Charles De Lint :stars4: This is definitely one of his best novels, but there is always something that prevents me from giving him a five star rating. In this case, it was cognitive dissonance that was blatantly obvious in a couple of spots.

When should you throw a book away?

I don't throw books away. If it is one I no longer want or didn't like, I either sell it or donate it to the local library.

Hi, Robert. Thanks for the suggestions. :flowers: I am going to wait for my birthday (in May) and pick up some more of his work. I will definitely read those two, and I may end up reading all of Dickens' novels, I enjoyed my first one that much!

Hmmm, I guess I would bore you, but somehow that would be cool in an unexpected way, and my father is secretly a Russian. ;)

    Charles Dickens

I have just finished by first Dicken's novel, Great Expectations, and I am eager to read more of his works. This was a surprise for me, as I have always been intimidated by what others have said about his writing. "Wordy" and "difficult" are the two most common adjectives that come to mind. I...
