    Comedy Writers Required.

I am not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I have also stuck the link up on my blog here on the forums, The Misanthropist's Muse, so here goes: Follow the link to the Newsjack site for full submission details. It is in the UK but it looked like submissions could be by email. OK...

Kurt Wallander Mystery - Henning Mankell

Huh? GMTA? The whole Martin Beck series was actually just reprinted here in the UK so they have been available in the book shops again. When I say "was" I mean within the last couple of years.

    Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

    Take Cover!

I have become a bit of an extremist of late. I swing from (positive) noir, when I can find it, to comedy novels like Janet Evanovich and Carl Hiaasen. Ultra-dark to ultra-light without much in between. So, people like Charles Bukowski, Louis-Ferdinand Celine, Knut Hamsun, Ivan Turgenev, Peter...

In my head I am incredibly prolific. My problem is getting it from mind to paper (or screen). As for too prolific I don't really see how you can be. It is one of those personal things: what is right for you is right for you. As art is the most individualistic form of expression then what others...

Kurt Wallander Mystery - Henning Mankell

Actually there was a better series of crime novels about a Swedish cop called "Martin Beck". There were ten books in series, written by a husband and wife team whose names escape me without going to Google for them. There are some remarkable similarities between the Beck series and Wallender's...

Brick & mortar bookstores- R.I.P. & good riddance

All true,SFG75. But at least in a book store you know you are walking out with the book you want. Buy from Amazon and you can be in for a surprise when some book (eventually)turns up a week later that you never ordered.

    Take Cover!

Literature's most miserable reader has arrived. I thought everyone here looked far too happy so I have come to depress everybody with my melancholic, if not outright misanthropic, tendencies. I've got my blog up and my newbie post. All I need now is to be able to think of something intelligent...
