At the risk of being yelled at....hahahahaha....my favorite author right now is still Stephenie Meyer, and NOT because of TWILIGHT. Her writing style is amazing to me. I love how she puts you inside her characters heads, and I love some of the descriptiveness she uses. Have other authors done it...

I just finished 31 ad by David McAfee and I'm starting on 61 AD and omg it's so good! I left a review for it on Amazon, and I can't wait to read the next two in the series. They are amazing. Seems like these days its becoming harder and harder to find a really really really good book!
