    Have you ever.....part 2

Thank you Wilderness. I have actually never been scared bya movie before, but with books my mind just loves to go all out and I have recently moved to a new house unfortunately located out in the woods, so letting my imagination run wild now has no limits. Ironically you quoted Dean Kootz and...

Do you make yourself finish a bad book?

Darn right, and that's pretty much the only reason to force yourself to finish a bad book. If you just can't get into the book don't force it, it will only further ruin the experience anyways.

    Have you ever.....part 2

Have you ever been so engrossed in a thriller or horror book that after putting it down for the night you either just couldn't go to sleep because you had the heebie jeebies or once you did fall asleep you had nightmares inspired by the book (what book if you don't mind)?

    Dean Koontz

Thanks Robert Thanks Robert. I have a lot of Koontz books and just never know which one to read next, and I read the back of "The Mask" and didn't think I'd like it but since you gave it such praise I figured what the heck and I am so glad too. I just finished it not more than twenty minutes...

    Favorite book store?

Boy do I feel even lower than the bottom of the totem pole. Similar to the dirt scattered around the bottom of the pole to be exact. I live in a very small town with no real good Book stores anywhere close by. I've always dreamed of a real expansive personal library when I get older, but with...

    Have you ever....

I'm hoping to start up a whole line of new threads all springing from questions or scenarios such as the one I'm about to start. Have you ever gotten so deeply involved in a book that you completely lost track of time and had it result in something stupid like forgetting to pick someone up or...

    Dean Koontz

Sorry you feel that way. If you were inquiring as to what makes Koontz such a great author just ask, but I was under the impression that most people in here already knew that they liked Koontz and simply wanted to get help deciding which book to read next. As for Rex please chime in and answer...

Ever broken up with someone over books?

My ex-girlfriend never liked to read, but she sure did like to sleep, which worked out perfectly. She'd sleep nestled up next to me while I splurged in the world of imagination and mystery. Unfortunately we broke up for reasons unknown (I was replaced by an unreading neanderthal). But thankfully...

    LOTR V/S Harry Potter

Oh poor poor Stewart. How can you say that you are too old or beyond Harry Potter? What makes the wonderous fictional world of Harry Potter worse than that of a fictional world inhabited by nonexistant creatures. If one can not embrace imagination than how can one read and imagine the world...

    Are Audiobooks Cheating?

audio books are so convenient audio books grant people extra time. I mean like you said free time is hard to come by anymore so if you can multi task and listen to a book while working out, or doing household chores then good for you. I wouldn't listen to them in the car though. I get so caught...

Who is your favorite fictional character and why?

Jack Stapleton from Robin Cook's works My favorite character as of right now would have to be Robin Cook's Jack Stapleton. The man is a medical geniuses who chooses to live in perhaps the worst part of New York City, rides a bike to work, and not only plays basketball with the local...

    Robin Cook

First of all I apologize ahead of time for messing anything up this is my first thread. I have recently started reading books by Robin Cook, and I love his characters especially since they carry over from book to book. I am especially excited to read the what is going to happen to jack stapleton...
