Do you let an author's personal views affect your reading choices?

what makes it so shocking in my opinion is that it's not clear why they did it. They claimed insanity...is she insane.

Do you let an author's personal views affect your reading choices?

That is shocking. Is her writing any good? And the stories? If it's about murder she at least has the experience to write about it. Still it's disconcerting, it's not common for people just to murder without apparent cause. I can imagine knowing can hinder the enjoyment of her written words.

    Can kids read too much?

As a kid I read a lot, would read a book within a day. I read fiction and non fiction. I read my fathers book, ended knowing more than a kid my age should have known. I turned out alright. Well I'm not a very social person but that's not because of me reading a lot but more a personality...

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

I thought it dragged on to long. I liked the beginning and the albino monk was interesting but it went on and on. I think the story was average at least better than the movie, the movie was horrible.

Where to start with Stephen King?

I myself started with Pet Sematary, it's scary. I loved The Stand, it has some realness with it being it's something that can actually happen (Minus the supernatural bits), last years swine flu scare made me thing about The Stand.

    Stephen King: Desperation

I've not read any of Stephen Kings new novels. Does he still write about his accident in every story he writes. Kinds of get old. The story of Desperation sounds interesting.

    Inception

I liked it a lot, my wife less. She said it dragged along too much. I thought it good, I was glued to the screen and forgot all about my wife sitting besides me. (Could that be the reason she did not like it?)

    Terminator the Sarah Connor chronicles
