Grass mazes?

I read a book about seven years ago that I found in my local library as a child and thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot remember the name or author, but I am anxious to read it again as it was inspiring and beautiful.
It wasn't a very long book, and it had a heroine in it, probably a young girl. I know the cover of the book (at least in the edition I read) was mostly green, and it had a grass maze on it. I think the book involved fantasy worlds and grass mazes, but it's all a bit blurry.
Any ideas would be great!

Well, there's The China Garden, by Liz Berry. That's a bit of a stretch though. It is a fantasy and a maze is central to the story, but the cover isn't green.

This is a long shot, but could you be thinking of Grass by Sheri Tepper? It's one of those books that stays in your memory.

Take a look at the cover of the American first edition by Doubleday. (I’ll try to post an image of the cover, but I don’t know if this will work. The book cover is actually MUCH greener than this.)

“Generations in the future, when humanity has spread to other planets and Earth is ruled by Sanctity, a dour, coercive religion that looks to resurrection of the body by storing cell samples of its communicants, a plague is threatening to wipe out mankind. The only planet that seems to be spared is Grass, so-called because that is virtually all that grows there. It was settled by families of European nobility who live on vast estancias and indulge in the ancient sport of fox hunting--although the horses, hounds and foxes aren't what they what they appear to be. Rigo and Marjorie Westriding Yrarier and family are sent to Grass as ambassadors and unofficial investigators because the ruling families--the bons--have refused to allow scientists to authenticate the planet's immunity from the plague. The egotistical Rigo sets out to prove himself to the bons while Marjorie remains wary about the relationship between the hunters and the hunted. She gains allies in her search, but invasion strikes from an unexpected quarter before the truth about an alien species comes to light. Tepper ( The Gate to Women's Country ) delves into the nature of truth and religion, creating some strong characters in her compelling story.”

Maybe you were thinking of Labyrinth? My avatar is from the movie. I can't remember what the name of the guy who wrote the book was. I think A.C.H. Smith. It was a fantasy story about a girl named Sarah who had to run the Labyrinth to save her baby brother form Jareth the Goblin King.
