Lost: Season 6

I used to like this show a lot but when I moved to Thailand quit watching it as it was not shown here, but now they are starting to show it next month on AXN-Asia. I am not usre which season this will be though.

I still see it, but I'm glad it's the last season... I think the writers of the show are, like the characters they write about, completely lost and I'm hoping they'll be able to make sense of it all in the end. But I have my doubts...

I got into this show late but watched the entire first series within a few days, I love it even if it has got ridiculously confusing over recent series. Any newcomers have absolutely no chance of understanding what is going on.

I still need to watch the final episode of the last series before the new starts on Friday!

We've watched from the start, and yes it's frustratingly confusing at times, yet still very addictive. During Season 5 I was starting to think the Island is Atlantis! Hmmm...that's probably 120% wrong knowing Lost!

I really like this Season 6 premiere recap (esp the discussion of the other Others):
LOST SEASON 6 PREMIERE RECAP: Doubling Up All The Loose Ends | Best Week Ever

:D Great link, thanks Libra6!

I don't think all our questions will be answered. And I don't think I'll mind terribly if the aren't... It's been a fun ride, lots of twists and turns and exciting references and allusions. I like season six so far, though this week's episode is not one of my favorites. What could spoil it for me
would be if it all came down to a Good vs. Evil showdown, we already have Supernatural for that and they at least gave us fair warning...

We have only recently caught up with this thread and the series, by watching Seasons 1-5 on DVD, night after night over the course of a few weeks, a few episodes each night. That was exhilirating, exciting, fun and all those good things, with lots of discussion of plot points in between during the day.
Attempting to watch Season 6 online, however, proved an immediate disappointment (seemingly for technical reasons) so we are now waiting for the DVD set and will polish it off in an orgy of watching it when it comes out.
Lost has definitely been worth all the late nights and sleepy mornings, and I can't imagine enduring the suspense of waiting and only watching it week to week on TV.
In our case the choice was easy. Our TVs disappeared long ago, in favor of other activities, computers, now 4 of them, and books too many to imagine. But we still definitely look forward in anticipation to the Season 6 DVDs. :flowers:

March 23, 2010 ep: --> RECAP Here <--
Yay for Richard's background. Not bad, fairly moves the plot forward as well.

Re: NotTheDoctor -- I, too, hope this doesn't end in a good vs. evil showdown... but it seems that way now doesn't it? :( Boo.

Do y'all think they're all dead?

Re: Peder
I kinda know how you feel. My b/f and I got into the show by watching the first two seasons on DVD... we watched several episodes night after night. Then the 3rd season started on ABC, and it was not easy having to watch it week by week. But what I do think is fun (and horrible)... is that wait. Like the season 3 finale when
we find out that it's a flash forward and not a flash back, we're freaking out for months, waiting to find out who was in the coffin... who is "he" that Kate was referring to when she said, "I have to go, he'll be wondering where I am"...
. Part of the Lost experience is the wait.

I can't imagine waiting from week to week. Investing in the first five seasons was the best thing we could have done. Now...when 6 comes out, we can watch it in one fell swoop. :D And be sleepy for at least a week afterward.

If they end up with a good vs evil shtick I'll croak.

I have not watched this hsow since first season, and due to my work schedule back then I did not see it very often. Now I tried watching season 6 and forget about it, it is incomprehensible. Now they are showing the first season again and just finished watching first episode, and they will be showing first season all week so maybe can catch up, although people tell me the show got more and more ridiculous in later seasons.

We are making progress a few episodes at a time through season 1 from DVDs. The whole show is making a lot more sense now that we are seeing it a second time. It will/would be nice to have re-viewed all 5 seasons just in time to catch season 6 on DVD. We might then actually understand it. I hope.

Spoiler Warning

I love Lost. I think it's the best show on television. I am keeping up to date with season 6 and am really hanging on for the end. Does anyone else really want to know what Desmond's deal is? Why is he special? Why was he locked in a room on the submarine? Why isn't he a candidate? Why don't they kill Jack and give all his screen time to Desmond?

I assume all of these things will be answered in the next episode.

Did anyone watch the most recent episode? Wasn't it great?

Conveniently, once Desmond had decided to join Charles (in the original time line) he didn't need any explanation of what Charles expected him to do. Heaven forbid Lost answer any of the questions it raises.

Hurley next week. Hooray for Hurley!!

Yeah.
I guess the implosion of the hatch at the end of season 2 is the reason that Desmond is, in the words of Faraday, special. That was when Desmond became unstuck in time, and that is why he can go between the realities.

Why this is significant i.e. how will it help people in the real reality in their fight against the smoke monster, I don't know. Maybe the new Jacob (I bet Hurley, but no one agrees with me) will have to choose between which reality they want to keep or something.

I love the way the alternate reality seems to try to mirror the normal one. Kate delivering Claire's baby, Desmond having to save Charlie's life, etc. It's like that universe is trying to, in the words of Eloise Hawking, course correct.

Don't you feel weird when you discuss the plot of Lost? Everything I just wrote felt perfectly normal and natural as I was writing it. It's only once I look over it that I notice how absurd it all is. GOD I love Lost.

Great episode! After the (IMHO) annoying Ab Aeterno and the incredibly boring The Package, I was feeling rather disappointed but Happily Ever After blew me away. I even ended up dreaming about Lost for the first time since I started watching the show... but since I just finished watching Season 1 of Fringe, I got both shows mixed up in my dream :D

I'm also looking forward to the Hurley episode

I really liked Ab Aeterno. It was great! It revealed so much about the island! The night after I watched it I got drunk with people who don't know about Lost and I spent ages describing a half full bottle of red wine as being full of evil and malevolence. Then I invited them to think of the cap as the island. At least I thought I was being funny. I was probably, however, merely proving The Onion right.

What didn't you like about it?

I totally agree that The Package was pretty bad. Sun and Jin just don't do it for me, even if Sun is slowly taking her top off. That episode went nowhere, and was really just an elaborate excuse to
bring Mikhail back for a bit
.

Also, I am very very glad that I am not the only one who dreams about Lost.

You don't want to know how many times I've been killed by the smoke monster when I'm asleep.
