Books to read while on the window ledge

LOL-Perhaps a clarification is due. Peterson is one who could be characterized as a "deficit hawk" and he's been on that branch for a LONG time. To him, "growing up" would mean not printing money left and right to pay for social services and obligations owed to people through social security...

Books to read while on the window ledge

Just finished:  Currency wars: The making of the next financial crisis by James Rickards. Some books come at you with a clear set agenda. The Fed is run by the Bildergers, the Illuminati, or the midnight shift at a Kenosha Burger King. This guy equally skewers Keynesian...

Finally, an Okie book worth reading

Jessica and her family lived in Texas. I didn't know about the '71 Oklahoma case. Learn something new every day. :)

    Christopher Hitchens: Mortality

Finished this one a month ago and really liked it. While he was very controversial, I enjoyed his wit and writing style concerning his cancer treatment and impending death. My favorite lines? and This is not a topic that lot of people can write about in such a refreshing and uplifting...

    Self published?

Just checked out your website, absolutely love it! I also plunked down some change and purchased The Empty Chair. I love the book design covers btw, the one with the chick covered in blood definitely stood out, I will probably get that one too.

    Newt Gingrich: Days of Infamy

An update of sorts-this audio book interest has started out really well. When I turn off the ignition, I know the CD player will start right up where I left off, I just have to remind my wife to turn off the radio knob if she drives.:D I'm on CD 6 of 10 and the action has definitely been...

Simon Winchester: The Meaning of Everything: The Story of the Oxford English Dictionary

What a good find! I read The professor and the madman. Winchester does an exceptional job of telling a great story, while stringing in facts and neat to know minutiae that otherwise, would put you to sleep.

Big, bifocals make you look like a snooty, cranky, old frau. How many leaders do you think Egypt will have during the next two years?

    Laurence Sterne: Tristram Shandy

This thread has inspired me to blow the dust off and read it in a slower, more methodical way. This book is Dickens on steroids, few words with deep meaning and intent. One section at a time, definitely not a speed read.

    I hate books-salon.com

Moving is definitely one of life's lesser pleasures. The last two times I've done it, I start with the books. I have boxes and boxes of them. Honestly, I don't mind and it's less of a chore for me mentally as opposed to tackling the mattress. I hate to think about doing it now as I'm a...

    Max Brooks: World War Z

The book was prominently displayed at my local library this past week. I did pick it up and skim through a few pages and looked at the jacket. I was in more of a mood for a financial/economic apocalypse than a zombie apocalypse and chose likewise. Perhaps another day. :devillook
