Just checked Amazon and it says it is not out in paperback until 3 January 2005 and it costs £9.09 so it is not exactly cheap in paperback either .... go for the hardback or ask Martin to buy it for you :D
Amazon order just arrived on my desk :D . I have bought:
Song of Susannah (Dark Tower series)
The Talisman - Stephen King
Sabriel - Garth Nix
Angels and Demons - Dan Brown
Pandora's Star - Peter Hamilton
Can't wait to get stuck in!
I had the same dilemma Ell but I don't think the paperback is coming out for ages yet so I gave in and bought the hardback. Part of my reasoning for this was that the next book is out this week and are you going to be able to wait for that one to come out in paper back as well? I know I...

an hour and a half to go until the bank holiday - yipee! I have just bought Wolves of the Calla (the fifth book in the Dark Tower series) and it is huge - I can't wait to spend serious time at the weekend getting stuck in. My boyfriend has to work all weekend so I won't even get accused of...
I am having a bit of a nightmare friday - went out with work last night and drank way too much wine - finally staggered into work this morning an hour and a half late and very green around the gills. At least it is a bank holiday weekend :D
what a nightmare that was! The only other person who can see my computer screen at work was off yesterday as well so I thought 'great, a day on the the book forum' - imagine my dismay
