We certainly can discuss that subject, I don't see why not.
I've seen several versions of The Hound of the Baskervilles, so can comment on a few different ones ;-)
It's awesome isn't it just. My old flatmate used to sing it loudly out of the window each time an episode was starting; it was he who got me into the show.
Paris-shock is a serious issue for Japanese tourists:

I've found that to be a huge mistake also when visiting France in the past. Better I've found just to speak English and be damned, than attempt French and be held in contempt for bastardising their national language with my schoolboy attempts at ordering 'une chocolate froid et des allumettes'...
I'm not kidding though, most places I've been, from across Europe to Japan and beyond, have had the loveliest and most friendly people. For some reason though I found Venice to be delightful from a visual perspective, gorgeous churches, architecture, atmosphere, we just had terrible experiences...
Ah I see you've edited it now to reflect the reason you wish to go there and not the reason you've not yet been there ;-)
Curiously, on visiting a few years ago I loved Venice for many reasons, but wouldn't go back for some of those you mentioned!
That episode was also a bad hair day for Ms. Anderson.
I don't what's worse though, that I know such trivia or that I actually know the names of both of those episodes ;-) this is what happens when you watch the entire box-set through on DVD...
