The theme should be Crime/Thriller. We've had mystery, romance and books based on films this year already. I think we really need a good crime/thriller book.

Supernatural intrigue, mystery, ancient family curses, England, Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, an escaped convict, forbidden love, Devon moorland... Goldman's stuff sounds kind of derivative to me.
