Thanks to two librarian friends, I found a Facebook group thingy that posts neat stuff about libraries. It's called I Love Libraries.
This one has generated a nice talk with two girls I went to school with..we were remembering Mrs. Lovett, the first librarian we ever met. Wonderful lady...
I have a Coca Cola Bank hidden in my closet. I think I've got a grand total of $7. Not the way to quick riches..
Is there anything special you're saving up for?
The Wizard of Oz. My oldest kids loved it. There was a point in my life where I could pass through the living room where it was playing and gauge by which scene was on, just how much longer til the movie was over.
Favorite musical?
Meeting a friend for coffee and Christmas exchange this afternoon. Beyond that, I'm clueless. Will probably clean house in the morning.

Nope. Around here, the rivers and lakes usually don't freeze thick enough for that. When I was little, a boy drowned in the Arkansas because he tried to walk across the ice.
Ever had a house fire?
Oooh, two more to look up: Savvy by Inrid Law, and it's sequal, Scumble. FUN story about a family with 'powers' and all the crazy stuff that happens sometimes. Set in Kansas...sorta. Highly recommended.
I did that too...the dictionary was fair game as well. I also loved The Childhood of Famous Americans series, as well as an older series for somewhat older kids..I can't remember what they were called, but the topics were all historical, sometimes centered on events, not just individuals. I can...
When I was ten or so, I read and reread the Little House Books, specially The Long Winter and Banks of Plum Creek. Also I wore out the school library's copy of Indian Captive by Lois Lenski. I loved Marguerite De Angeli's books, particularly Skippack School, Henner's Lydia, and Yonnie...
