Happy Halloween to everyone! I hope you save some good candy for yourselves. I plan to save a stash for myself before opening the door to trick-or-treaters. You didn't hear that:rolleyes: Anyone have a good costume? I'm going with my usual Frodo Baggins look. Collected almost all of it from...
For those that use the cover flaps as a bookmark....I have a question.
What happens if you're reading a REALLY LONG book? Do you stretch the cover and make it work or just give up and use a bookmark  This question has bothered me for awhile, being someone who just takes the dust...
I don't have the patience to wait for books to be shipped from online even if they're cheaper and I don't have the $$ to buy them new from Barnes and Nobles everytime. So usually I head down to my local Half Price Books or any other used bookstore. I just went to the library sale yesterday and...
I don't know if this counts, but some of the stories by Edgar Allen Poe gave me nightmares when I was little. 'The Pit and the Pendulum' is pretty creepy as well as 'The Cask Of Amontillado.' The latter one especially if you're claustrophobic :o
At least in the teenage realm, I think that girls read more than boys. I have yet to meet a guy (in real life, I know there's tons on here :)) who REALLY enjoys books. Maybe they get interested a little later in life. But, the book club at my school has 6 people out of 550 total students and...
This is a really scary question. I have an addiction to buying books, but once I get them, they just sit on my shelf. I counted all the books I have yet to read and it's very long. Here are a few.
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke
The...

I'd heard that everyone hated it who read it, but I ended up loving it.

Before I read this I was totally against historical fiction, but I loved this so much I went to an...
This looks really great. I haven't really gotten into podcasts before, so I am going to go ahead and ask you how to subscribe to it.The website look really great. Forgive my ignorance ;)
I find I have to take a break between books or else I start getting tired of them and I can't appreciate them for what they really are. I enjoy them more when I make myself read a few books inbetween and I'm so excited to go back to the series that I overlook their faults.:)
My mother knew every tale that was ever told by the firesides of Erin, and more besides.
Son of the Shadows~Juliet Marillier
The sequel to the book that I just finished, which was very good.
I've read Second Glace and My Sister's Keeper. Both of which were very good. But Venus, I think you have a point. In both books there were characters that were similar. But if you look at her books as separate, there's not much criticism you can give them.
 I take that back, I'm sure...
