    Helen Fielding: Bridget Jones's Diary

To be honest, I liked this book- as long as I regarded it as a satire of modern times. I changed my mind after watching an interview with the author, when I found out that she really likes the heroine...I didn't. In my opinion, she didn't deserve Mr Darcy.

Now, for all the ladies...best romantic movie

Well, Martin, the problem is that we have different points of view. I (for the record: female) don't think about them in terms of their talent or ability to create an unique character. I look at them as men, i.e. males. ŻAhora todo es claro? By the way, thank you for your altruistic attempts...:)

Now, for all the ladies...best romantic movie

All right, I would agree as to Colin Firth...

Now, for all the ladies...best romantic movie

Well, I disapproved of "You've Got Mail", as it is a remake of "Little shop around the corner" with James Stewart, and they changed too much the original version.

Now, for all the ladies...best romantic movie

Actually, I've never understood some women's appreciation for George Clooney, Keanu Reeves or Brad Pitt. Sorry, but they aren't my kind of men... I prefer the past ones, as Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Rex Harrison, James Stewart, Marlon Brando...Give me the time machine, please... Maybe black...

Now, for all the ladies...best romantic movie

Well, I agree that Christopher Plummer was also great...And don't get offended, Martin, I was talking about actors. Nowadays I can't find anyone you could watch and melt yourself...

Oh, Gregory Peck...Why such men don't exist now?

Ten Little Indians - Agatha Christie.Help Needed!!

Thank you. Ashlea, but I must admit I don't like this idea...In my opinion, it kills the whole sense of the book. And the poem isn't compliant to the text any more.

Books you were forced to read at school!

We had also fragments of "Lolita" by Nabokow- I read the whole. And we knew the first sentence in English to savour his language.

The Return Of The King **Spoilers**

And Arwen doesn't add anything to the story...well, except that Aragorn has another stimulus to fight. As if he wouldn't do it without the threat of death to his beloved... And to Sam and Frodo (Idun's point one)-I could understand Frodo's making Sam leave him-after all, he was in the Ring's...

HAPPY ENDING? How is it possible? Did anyone survive :)?

The Return Of The King **Spoilers**

Martin, if the thing is that some things must have been cut, why the hell they made up the whole subplot with Arwen? They could give Eowyn and Faramir instead.

The Return Of The King **Spoilers**

Ending- I also would like more about other characters, but I was grateful for so much about Sam- my favourite...especially because my other favourite, Eowyn, was greatly cut off... I hated so much of Arwen- what for? What is more, they added her scenes, but not personality... (although I agree...

    UK's favourite book is...

Sorry, but I can't see the difference.I think that the favourite=the best book. And the most popular-it would be like choosing what book would choose the others.

    UK's favourite book is...

Hm, quite nice...It could be worse...Congratulations to Tolkien! But it should be considered if this victory isn't due to the film...I wish it wasn't, because it would mean than they in fact chose the film, not the book, and futhermore, than any book could win if there was a recent film based on...

    LotR

I am going to see it on 2nd of January. I didn't vote, because my option isn't here.It would be something like "I will go for sure, but why did those idiots cut off Saruman? If they had touched any of my favourite plots, they will be in trouble" You can add it to the possible answers... By the...

"Blindness" is great, Martin. And has a great underlying philosophical message. But is a little frightening, don't read it at night. By the way, you have a new face?A plastic surgery?
