I really enjoyed On Writing too, and not for the advice he gives (I don't really want to write), but for the way he gives his advice. Light and funny, which can be a nice change.
Saw bits and pieces of episodes, but I can't say I liked any of it. Later on I saw him on Oprah and was even less impressed.

Is it rude though to provide a user with links to threads that might have some useful information for them? I'd love to be welcomed like that, instead of having my thread be empty and my question unanswered. And I personally haven't seen anyone being rude to a newbie yet... Only if they start...
That's true. The way the Book Forum is currently organised is a bit messy. The titles of most threads make no sense, stuff seems to be posted in the wrong subfora all the time and new threads are opened almost daily on things that already have a thread of their own.
