Those two things really irritated me at first when reading Dune, as well.
As to the thoughts of each character: After getting about halfway into the book, this gets less irritating. At least, it did for me, as the action picked up and I became interested enough in the story to not be...
True about the lack of rape, which I did appreciate. It wasn't really one particular book, just in general. I'm not sure if he doesn't know how to write women or what, but it definitely managed to put me off his books.
I actually didn't mean the cat-mysteries, but rather the other ones that include cats here and there. I love cats and still hate the cat mysteries, so I'm not sure that is a stereotype that worked with me!
I read most genres, but I do avoid horror & true crime...fiction or not, I don't like to be scared. I don't often read romances, but I try not to block any genres out.

Just finished Fannie Flagg's A Redbird Christmas, it was a pleasant fun read, but I wish it had been longer. The first six months had a lot of detail and fun, while she just sorta skipped on through the second six months. Still, not bad for a Christmas read, and definitely one to buy if...
About halfway through A Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Nothing stressful, just a sweet & pleasant read. I love the way she writes, and find Flagg's books to be calming and fun.
I get a sense of deja-vu all the time...even more so recently. I'll be sitting in class or somewhere else and get the sense that I knew what was going to happen before it happened...just like I was remembering it happening earlier. Quite weird. I thought I was getting them more just because...
