Orginally it was published separately, right? I can't remember. If you're referring to the BOM, I think it would be more reasonable to consider reading them separately. Our BOM is off to a slow start and if we try to have all three read in one month, it might prove to be too much of a...
I've only read The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. I read it aloud to my children when they were little. You guys have convinced me that I must go back and read the others. Thanks!
Egad! Five or ten minutes? You poor dear. How can you get "into" a book that way? Most of my reading is done at night before bed. Usually one to two hours. Sometimes more. That's why I don't sleep enough. I will snatch 10-15 minutes here or there during the day if I have the time.
Whatever you decide is fine with me. I've read LOTR recently but not the Hobbit. I've also read The Dark Tower series (one of my personal favorites) but could reread in anticipation of the 5th book.
I couldn't get into The Shipping News, even though I was the one who suggested it. I read...
Welcome fellow fantasy reader!
I'm impressed! Not only a 16 year old that actuallys READS but one that has a life plan! I wish you lots of luck in your pursuits.
By the way, I also read The Sword of Truth. I'm waiting for the latest one to come out in paperback. It shouldn't be...
I understand completely, Amy. When I was in school, immediately after my last exam in the semester I'd run out and buy a book. I couldn't enjoy reading my own books during the semester knowing I was supposed to be studying.
I agree with you about Jordan losing his way. It's gotten kind of silly. I, like you, however, still enjoy them and am waiting for #10.
I had to visit a couple of WOT sites to refresh my memory with regard to the various names and plot lines. Egad it's become complicated! I have a hard...
So the court is divided I see. :D
My 10 year-old is extremely fussy about his books. (I guess he didn't get it from me) He hates it when his 12 year-old brother borrows his books, especially his paperbacks, because he says his brother "opens them too far" thus ruining the binding of the...
Has anyone read the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? I've visited web sites and forums dedicated to the series, but they're just a bit too intense (OK I'll say it, obsessive) for me. I'd love to discuss them here, however. Seems a safer place. :p :p
guilty page folder
I risk the wrath of all by admitting this, I'm sure. I do fold the page over (paperbacks only, NEVER hardcover). To my partial credit, I do feel guilty about it every time. I only do this if I can't find a bookmark, slip of paper, grocery receipt, post it note, etc. Now...
End of summer is a busy time for me. School starting for my boys, soccer practices, etc. But really, weather-wise summer has not ended here. It'll still be hot for another couple of months. We have summer and winter, that's it. It's actually hotter now than in June-August!
And to top it...
