ok, I'm jealous
I've never been outside of the U.S. except for an occasional visit to the Mexican bordertowns. My lifelong dream has been to visit the other side of the ocean. <sigh> One day. One day.
Hi, Bebe. I think it's OK to be a geek (if that's how you think readers should be classified), even if it's a closet one. Most of my friends read quite a bit, so I don't have to worry about hiding my passion. At work, however, I get comments about the fact that I always have a book near at...
I thought maybe no one was interested. Thanks, Ian. I'll have to reread The Sparrow to do a review, but I'm game.
As I mentioned, she has written two books to date: The Sparrow and Children of God (sequel to The Sparrow). They would be classified as sci-fi. I hope that doesn't scare...
I downloaded Netscape and it's working great! No more creepy popups opening over and over and over again. No more system lockups. I feel like a new person!
Thanks all.
I must say, though. It may take me a little while to get up the courage to lose Outlook Express. The saga continues.
I may be out of my league here, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I am a glutton for punishment. (If you don't know that, just visit the thread on my recent virus sitch.)
Why not create a system of categories based on your own criteria? There may be an official way of doing it, but if it's...
Thanks, guys. It's been frustrating to say the least. Just about every time I look for a solution on the web, I encounter the virus and have to try to stop the popups from taking over or reboot and try again.
I ran two other online virus scans and nothing comes up. They say I'm clean. Go...
Thanks
I visited the Symantic website as suggested and ran the cleaner, but I'm still having the problem. This is the second cleaner that I ran. I let my Mcafee anti-virus program expire, which was stupid on my part. I followed all the instructions on that site, found the mentioned files and...
Ok, so this is way of the topics of books, but I'm desperate.
I have this virus that I thought I cleaned, but it's still giving my problems. Does anyone know a good forum for such things?
Just in case someone here might be familiar with dealing with viruses, I'll describe my problem. It's...
That's true, Annabelle. But why takes chances? Knowing that I may get get into a car accident won't keep me off the road, but I'll drive cautiously to avoid an accident. That's all I'm saying.
Ok, so I feel a bit torn. I must admit I felt uncomfortable giving my real name to register, but I'm OK with it now. I'll say this, though. I did not give many details in my profile because, with my first name, birthdate, city, etc., someone COULD track me down. It just makes me feel a bit...
I just noticed yesterday that King has a new book out. "Everything's Evenual". It looks interesting. It's a collection of 14 short stories.
Anyone reading it yet?
Four Past Midnight was pretty good. I guess I'm not one for novellas. The novella about the camera was good. It's been awhile so I can't remember the name.
I agree, wholeheartedly. IT scared the you-know-what out of me. For a truly creepy experience, be sure to read IT in a quiet place, late at night with only your reading lamp for illumination.
I'd like suggest reading at least a couple books from the Dark Tower series before The Talisman...
