    Book involving alien encounter/civilization?

Stranger in a Strange Land sort of fits the bill. Sort of. And The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell is Catholics in space so probably does too.

    Think and Grow Rich

It's remarkable that you're still reading them over 40 years later. Congratulations on an entirely non-suspicious first post.

    Think and Grow Rich

I have How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, but it didn't teach me anything I didn't already know. By the way, have I told you all lately how much I think you suck?

    Your Very First Website...

That's how my uni library's lighting system worked too. They put motion sensors in the stacks and by the reading desks. Great when you were browsing and the lights came on automatically as you walked around, but sit down and read for longer than a minute and they all turned off again, plunging...

    Your Very First Website...

Welcome information for the University of Bath Not especially thrilling, but it was the default homepage the first time we logged in. Mind you, it's considerably posher looking these days.

    Moorcock Recommendations

I've got the Fantasy Masterworks Elric. I've read nearly half of it and I would chew my own arm off rather than read any more of it.

    Women in History

The miniseries with Helen Mirren as Elizabeth is excellent. I was all weepy at the end. The script, the acting, the costumes, the whole production is superb and I recommend getting hold of a copy if you haven't seen it already.

    Boardgames anyone?

In my first year of uni, my housemate lost all our pots and pans in a game of Monopoly with another house. I had to go on a dawn raid to steal them back again. I told her she was never to bet household goods again, so she bet herself in a game of poker. It was during that rescue that I forbid...

After so many years, music is calling me back.

It should be a naked woman surfing on the back of a shark that's playing a burning guitar in a sea of skulls. She could have your MC tattooed across her breasts. Also, she should be wearing a Viking helmet.

    Do you take book notes?

I only do it very rarely. Usually only if I'm reading something where I know I'm going to have trouble keeping track of names, last book I did that would have been The Wizard of the Crow so I could tell my giant ears and eyes and lips apart. I did cross out the map sections as they were closed...

    Which is the...

I've just given up on Elric. I'd quite like to shove his evil sword up his pale, brooding arse.

    Boardgames anyone?

We're really more of a Pop-Up Pirate and Tumblin' Monkeys sort of a household. Board games lead to bloodshed. We've got Dread Pirate, but it needs more people to make it worth playing, same with Killer Bunnies, and for some reason people are reluctant to play against us. Or they'll play but...
