Great book. She's very much a feminist and environmentalist and that comes through strongly in her books, but Grass isn't man bashing that I can remember. It's one that can be enjoyed for the story without feeling like you're being beaten over the head by the moral.

The series turned into a perverted wet dream for Goodkind and it made me feel queasy to read it. And not in a good way. He's a very disturbed man.

I like a defined story arc and I like to not see the characters being painted into a corner while they wait for the deus ex machina ending to show up and save them all. The trouble with too long a series of books is that often the author gets lost along the way and the story turns to drivel...
I prefer Columbo to Monk. I only have to pay attention to the first five minutes. Also Psych. In Psych the killer is always the person with the briefest introduction. Plus they did that excellent cover of Shout.
If PETA were really serious about stopping animal cruelty and turning the world vegan they'd be out there eating as much meat as they could shovel into their faces to stop the meat eaters getting it.
