    The seiries/Book your reading

I'm reading Jonathan Maberry's Ghost Road Blues which is the first in a 3 book series. Just good old fashion horror story and I like it so far. I read all the books out in the Dies the Fire and while it starts of interesting he just keeps dragging things out.

    Animal Fantasy Suggestion

Second the Firekeeper series. The books get a little weak later on but the first couple are pretty good. Dragon Riders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. Ton of books in that series. An Introduction to Anne McCaffrey's Pern Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver Yet another series. I only read the 1st of...

Im Looking for fav. books (any and all)

King "The Stand" Koontz "Watchers" and "Twilight Eyes" McCammon "Swan Song" and "The Wolf's Hour" Lumley's Necroscope series is my favorite series so far although Martin's Song of Ice and Fire could pass it if he ever gets off his fat ass and finishes it.

    Suggestions - A new reader

Bingo Can't go wrong there other then the series isn't finished yet and Martin is being lazy bastard :).

    Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels...

http://pern.srellim.org/intro.htm That has a suggested order and a chronological order listed over on the left. I think I pretty much went with the suggested order when I read it but since the books take place at many different times and a lot aren't really connected to others you can jump...

    McCaffrey conundrum

Was there a plague in it? If not it probably didn't have anything to do with Pern ;).

    New book

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/His_Dark_Materials Might give those a try. Pretty much the opposite of Narnia on religion but still a good story. Pretty light on the sex stuff though.

    series recommendation

I've read the first 5 Dresden book and just thought they were all right before stopping. I may go back and finish it at some point but the newer series sounds interesting. I'll add them to my list.

    help.....im lookin for a good suspense/horror book

Wolf's hour is my favorite of his and turned me into a werewolf junky. I still need to pick up the sequel to Nightbird. Nightbird wasn't one of my favorites but it wasn't bad and the medical stuff was interesting. Koontz's Odd series hasn't been bad but I wish he would go back and finish...

    First book

Anne Rice's vampire series were the first books I read without having too when I was 19 or 20. Just read the Elvenbane series a few months ago :).

Solved - A new girl at a high school befriends a sinister pack of shapeshifting panthers?

Sounds a lot like Blood and Chocolate only thats werewolves and its the girl thats the shape shifter.

    help.....im lookin for a good suspense/horror book

Try some Robert McCammon. I'd say Swan Song is his best work, kind of his Stand, but Mine is a pretty good suspense story.

Recommendations for my 11 year old little brother.

Jane Lindskold Through Wolf's Eyes 6 book series I've read the first 5 of those and liked them. I don't remember any sex scenes or anything ultra violent. It has magic and smart animals but not dragons really or elves and crap. Dragon Riders of Pern series Lots of dragons and lots 20+...

    Beowulf

Saw it over the weekend. I didn't think the movie itself was all the great but our theater did have it in 3D and that more them made up for it. 3D has come a long way since the last flick I saw with it.

    best werewolf novel

Sounds a little too romancy to me. Best one I have read is McCammon's The Wolf's Hour.

Do you buy, borrow or take out from the library?

Both but if I can get the book from the library I usually do. If I bought every book I read I'd be broke and wouldn't be able to afford the second house I would need to buy just to store books.

I love the Dresden Files series!!

The Blake books only go to hell around book 8 when she turns into super whore. Before that they are good stupid entertainment. Her latest one #16? actually had a plot which is a first in a while.
  19. C

do you keep track of the books you read?

I've been keeping track of mine in a Excel spread sheet for about 10 years. I don't really have a good reason for doing. I just like too :).

Speaks the Nightbird by R. McCammon

I agree with lenny nero. I liked it but its no Swan Song or Wolf's Hour. The medical details he goes into were pretty neat.
