Glad to hear you enjoyed Human Traces - I'm working through it and finding it a bit slow going. The writing's good, the characters are well developed and he's got a real knack for ending each chapter on a high to keep you keen for the next one. I am finding some of the medical digressions...

I can see why you didn't finish Human Traces after reading Birdsong, this one's harder going and grimmer - also a lot of digression into medecine / pyschology. I'm about 150 in - will keep going and see if I reach the summit.

I thought "Last of the Wilds" was out here already? Being tight I'm going to wait till it's in paperback. If you can mug a friend for it that's even cheaper:)
