Oh, and Pontalba, I know music has a very important role in the movie-Talented Mr Ripley, I heard some comments saying that Ripley's passage from classical and Bach to jazz marks the moment when chaos and false identity take over. Not that there is anything wrong with jazz, I love the jazz music...
I read the piano tuner and I liked it a lot, especially the way he describes the piano and the presence of music in that exotic, forgotten land, threatened by war.
I like his short stories and plays a lot.Has anyone seen his plays or films based on his plays? they are so warm and tender, despite the strength of the conflicts and characters.
Saturday is the fifth McEwan book I have read, I read it immediately after On Chesil Beach, which I enjoyed a lot.Saturday is totally different yet similar to On Chesil Beach as it shows how people's psychologies reflect the events and mentalities of a certain age:the 21st century in the former...
I would recommend Maroon5, It won't be soon before long
I got it as a present because I love one of the songs- Won't go home without you. And I discovered that the entire album is great.
I get nostalgic and dreamy when I see an empty carrier bag being blown around by the wind, on the pavement. ( American Beauty) And I can think of more silly things, but I need time to remember them as I always need time to remember my favourite movies list.:D
I've recently discovered a very talented young writer, Zadie Smith.I read White Teeth and On Beauty, these books are amazing. Her humour and the way she creates lively characters and scenes make you enjoy every sentence of her books.Last week I bought The Autograph Manand I can't wait to read...
No, but I read The History of Love and it's an amazing book, I liked it a lot, I placed it on the shelf where I keep my favourite books:DI didn't know about the other novel.
For fun
I think people read for entertainment.Unfortunately, more and more people don't have the time or the patience to read:confused: I heard people saying so.
But those who read do it for entertainment and for the fun they get when discussing the book with some friends.:) It's what I do.
I can't wait to see this film, is it out already?:) I like Cate Blanchett a lot, I've just seen Notes on a Scandal and I loooved the way she played Elizabeth in the previous film. Her beauty is so special and it can express so much.
I like them
I like British films, thanks for bringing that up and for all the web sites recommended.:)
I liked Billy Eliot and Little Voice.and many others...Are Branagh's Shakespeare adaptations British?
I like reading author sites, everytime I finish a new book that I like I look for the author on the net.It somehow makes the pleasure of being in the world of that book longer.
Love parrots
I loove that parrot, Mrs Pacino. Can he speak? He is a beauty. I have two budgies they are small and blue, but a bit stupid.:( I'm still trying to train them to sit on my finger.
