    Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I heard so much about this book but i'm afraid for me it didn't live up to the hype. The story was a good idea and well written but there was something missing. Never mind on to the next one. Cabrasopa :cool:

    How about..... Not the End of the World by Geraldine McCaughrean The book is a story about Noah and his family and what it would really be like on the Ark with all the Claustrophobic tensions, practical problems, even the smell with all the animals on board. Cabrasopa :cool:

    I agree, really enjoying Stephen King's 'IT' until he seemed to run out of ideas, a truly awful ending Cabrasopa :cool:

    Thanks Clueless i've added The Carpenter's Pencil by Manuel Rivas.and Soldiers of Salamis by Javier Cercas to my evergrowing list of books to read. As for reading Spanish no, i can get by speaking that's all. Thanks, keep them coming Cabrasopa :cool:

    What do you use as a bookmark?

    I used to keep self made bookmarks (quite a few years ago now) in which i would write down every book i read on it. At the end of the year i would date them and start a new one. I had quite a collection but have somehow over the years lost them. Maybe i'll start again Cabrasopa :cool:

    I'll read anything about or set in spain, i'm particularlty interestested in the Spanish Civil War (see beginning of thread) I do read a lot of fiction though, so any recommendations gratefully accepted. As for Spanish writers i've not read many. (again recommendations please!!)...

    Still can't beat the small sidestreet bookshops, especially second hand shops where bargains can always be found. Of the Bigger shops i prefer the one's that only sell books, i cannot stand bookshops that sell videos,cd's, cards,drawing sets, etc etc. Cabrasopa :cool:

    I read 'Bored of the rings' a little while ago and didn't finish it, don't bother story was rubbish and not funny should have been called 'Bored of the book' Cabrasopa :cool:
