    one thing

A used book store. I would run it and love it! I'd have magazines that could be read for free as people lounge on couches drinking great (and NOT free) coffee/tea. I'd specialise in certain genres and loan the shop out for free to book clubs (as long as I am allowed to be there!). Oh...

I've never even heard of these books. Sorry, I cannot have a chat with you about them. Maybe I'll give them a try!

To read or not to read. That is the question.

I actually finish. It's very unlike me to not finish a book, however, the new Jean M Auel was so awful! I didn't put it down until hubby finally suggested I just stop (probably because I was reading some of it aloud and HE was hating it as well!). I have been reading Clive Barker's Imajica...

Who do you Marry & how do you know they are the one?

Well, I have been married to he who hates ceremonies for almost 8 years. We met, moved in and were married within 8 months. We got married for a reason no one has yet brought up in here... well started as one reason and became two reasons. Reason #1 - I am American by birth. Kook will tell...

    Any recomendations for psychological thrillers?

Sar - My genre too! It depends on which sort you like... J Kellerman is quite tame really although I love his books! Have you tried Nicci French? What do you want out of the book? A fright? Excitement? There are so many to choose from!

    Favorite book store?

I love Ellison Hawker. Richard is my favourite book seller! A couple years back I was sick and had mandatory bedrest and Richard was the only person who could pick out books that I actually wanted to read! Plus, he finds all the rare odd books I want. Hail Richard! PS I asked him for a job...

Ever broken up with someone over books?

I am in the same boat as Pigeon. He who was reading "Australia's Dirtiest Jokes" when I met him supports my reading and occasionally asks for advice when selecting the book it will take him a VERY long time to read. Books are about the only thing I can buy without giving he who loves money a...

    spamming/hijacking?

I am actualy put off by some of the digression. I know it doesn't matter as I am rarely noticed and/or acknowledged. I do miss straight book talk.

Wabbit - you lucky lucky person!!! I end up paying lots for a majority of books because of where I am. The used book shops always have the exact same books, although occasionally, I'll find a gem. Enjoy the books and let me know what you think.

    Alternative Holidays

Gosh, never, but being a parent doesn't allow you those sorts of luxuries. We are going to Greece/Turkey next year though. I'd LOVE to see all the ruins (Mayan and Incan, etc)!

    hey!!!

mehastings - I don't envy you your overnighters! I was a third shifter for about 6 months and had trouble adjusting. Now I do the normal, boring 7:30am - 4:30pm. Civilised! I did, however, work second shift once and thought that was great but it's not condusive to having fun with your...

It's hot here - how 'bout there?

Motokid - it's usually a bit colder. I haven't broken out the serious Katmandu gear as of yet. It doesn't get as cold as East Coast USA but it does get REALLY windy! It's going to be 14C tomorrow and apparently, 17C for Thursday and Friday! YAY! That's downright boiling! It IS winter here...
