    drunk and leaving a party

It's pathetic! We no longer have to take responnsibility for ourselves. It's a hugely litigious society and it's catching on here on Australia. Be an adult why don;t you! It's like the teens who were (still are?) suing McDonald's for their obesity. No one amde them eat food that EVERYONE over...

    "French Women Don't Get Fat"

I won't be reading this book. It's an affront to other women. What about the japanese whop have low levels of obesity and eat extremely well?

do you keep a book list?

I agree Sanyuja - the list of books you want as a gift can be quite handy. I always write one around Christmas time, even though most people don't get the hint.

    John Saul

John Saul is good. I've just purchased Guardian and have read most of his books. He writes horror (obviously) and it's very child based, Suffer the Children, The God Project. They're not bad. Give 'em a try.

do you keep a book list?

I have a "Book of Books" which I carry around. It has every book I own in it by author. That way, I don't double buy which can happen with someone like Lawrence Block where I've read many more than I own!

    Piccoult

Hi bookies. Ok. "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Piccoult. It's the next book for my book club. I've yet to read it but I've heard everything from "I loved it! That's why I suggested it to Book Club" to "Here, you can have the damn book! I couldn't get past page 65". The story has been ruined for me...

sanyuja - it's a crappy lesson to learn! The Life of Pi was good and THAT got lots of hype.

    Hype Monkeys & Ignorant Readers

bob5000 Hello. An ignorant position? Because I realise that if it is loved by the masses than I generally won't love it? Because I realise that my taste is slightly off-centre? Because I was stating something that's been true for all of my adult life? I didn't 'categorically deny anything...

    John Douglas

I've read 2 of his books, "Anyone you want me to be" and "Obsession". It's difficult at times to read biographies, especiallty about serial killers as there are so many characters in the peripheral. Anyone recommend a biographical writer as good as John Douglas?

Life is short. I like the quote "Life is deaf, knock hard!"

    How often do you read?

My old man is going away for a conference today... until Saturday. He's afraid everything (my dog, daughter, rat) will die from starvation/dehydration. Last night he said to me "That's it, I'm going to start reading all the time now and we'll see what happens when we both have our noses...

    Hilarious Reads

Bill Bryson makes me laugh out loud! He's SO funny and able to make the 'normal' and 'accepted' obtuse and silly. Christopher Fowler makes me laugh. I'm reading Catcher in the Rye at the moment and that has elicited the occasional guffaw. Garrison Keillor "Lake Wobegon Days" with...

    Janet Evanovich

I've got all 10 and read them. VERY funny! Dang! The 'Full' series sucks though. Beware! I tried Full House and hated it! What do you think?

    Horror in the woods
