    World Cup: Discussion

That episode only adds to his legendary status. Anyone that has seen him play in his prime will forgive him for all his less than perfect sides.

    World Cup: Discussion

England were lucky to win. I dont think england will go far, but i had expected more than this from the team. Santa Cruz has just returned from a long term injury i think, and looked unfit or at least uninterested. If england continues like this they will struggle against most teams.

    World Cup: Discussion

The germans have a remarkable ability to get far in the world cup even if their teams are not that special.

Who will win the World Cup?

I predict England will get knocked out in the second round and blame it all on the referee and Sven. Then they will stay safely in the illusion of beeing the best team in the world for another four years until the next world cup.

Who will win the World Cup?

Based on the quality of the squad Brazil should win it. For once they even got a pretty good goalkeeper. Behind Brazil i think its pretty open. Argentine, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and even England could make it to the final. Though if forced to choose i think...

    Games, a waste of time?

That is far from the truth. Books can easily be just as stupid or even worse than any game or TV-show.

How many people played Game Books?

I read several of these when i was younger but i cant remember a single title. I dont remember using dice to decide any actions either it was mainly just directing the actions of the hero. I used to follow most of the paths to see what happened.

What the Hell?! Post deletion blows!

You misunderstand. It was not targeted at you but the ones that have reported posts like yours. If it stayed in the general chat area it would not be a problem, but every thread with more than 2 pages end up as a chatty thread filled with spamm.

Victor Pelevin: The Helmet of Horror

Yes its a fairly standard plotdevice, but it was the first thing i thought when i read your review. The director is not exactly a modern day Tarkovsky but its worth a watch. http://imdb.com/title/tt0123755/ I just ordered the book as well. It sounds interesting. Thanks for the tip.

What the Hell?! Post deletion blows!

There seems to be a lot of people on this forum that take it as a personal insult when someone disagrees with them. Unfortunately it seems that its the same people that reports posts to the mods for deletion. The forum is looking more and more like a chatroom for a certain group of people...

    Norwegian Literature

Growth of the soil is one of the more political novels Hamsun wrote. He did not like the growing modernisation of the society and in this book he makes a tribute to the simple farmer working the land. Isak, the main character starts out alone and with nothing but simple hard work he builds a...

    Knut Hamsun: Dreamers

I think the association between Hamsun and Kafka comes from "Hunger". Its often viewed as the novel that opened the path for authors like Kafka. I've heard someone call him "the father of the modern novel", yet if you read the rest of his works you can not in any way call them grim. He goes...

    The Holy Trilogy

Because he sells a gazillion dvd's to the fans every time he releases a new ultimate version. Blame the fans for beeing stupid, Lucas is just providing what they want.

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Its quite simple. Whenever you have a book/movie etc that attracs so much attention there will be a lot of love/hate posts about it. Right now its TDVC that everyone "have to read". Every book forum has a lot of posts about this book by people that liked it, naturally there will be posts by...

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Because the book gets a silly amount of attention, and because of the claims made by the author.
