Am currently watching Peep Show and bloody loving it! Is it wrong that I sometimes recognise some of my own thoughts in these two guys? (seeing as I'm female and deluding myself that I'm normal)
Just came back from a friend's place, where we watched John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns. I quite enjoyed it, very scary premise that was in all likelihood ripped off from an older film, but I'm too lazy to check. Quite horrifically gory at the end, but I was hiding behind a tiny stuffed dog, so...
I also liked this better than TDVC, although it really is just luck for DB as he was writing to exactly the same formula.
At the very least, this is going to boost sales of A&D, and probably TDVC, Deception Point, and Digital Fortress as well. Let us all cry into our pillows as a massive...
Robert, that's a lovely idea. We do something similar on Clean Up Australia Day, with beaches and national parks being a particular focus.
As for the sig, it's the first line from Stephen King's It, which everyone is sick of me talking about, I'm sure!
It is raining here. Good for the earth, as we need all the rain we can get right now, but not so good for the outside time. I will recycle the 18 empty beer bottles sitting on my coffee table (not all mine, thanks), remember to take my Green Bags when I go shopping, and leave my car at home...
Mcilroga, your pig looks sad. Also, he has quite a human face, I think (let's not go into analysis mode  )
Thanks, Darren!!
Oh, I do it not for the post-count, but for the love of conversing with fellow book lovers 352, I rock.
This is the most ludicrous and sweeping generalisation I have read in a while.
Eyez, I appreciate the points you are trying to make, but your making them is pointlesss unless you back up any factual statements with PROOF.
I have yet to see any as a result of my above request.
Can I revive this thread? It's so cute. I found it because Cary bumped the Laymon thread to the top and I found out that I was once registered as Amy_1984. Weird, hey? Not sure how I forgot that. I hope I haven't broken any forum rules, but I obviously don't use the old account (I think...
Having reconsidered the situation, I would like to make the following amendments:
1. Arrested Development (sob!)
2. The Simpsons seasons 1 - 9
3. Lost
4. Seinfeld
5. Scrubs
6. The Office (BBC)
7. Black Books
8. Spaced
9. The Young Ones
10. Smallville
I have no valuable contributions to make here (the only seafaring book I've ever read is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which was great by the way), but I wanted to mention that every time I see the title of this thread I get The Sailor's Hornpipe tune in my head. WARNING: clicking on the link...
Exactly. I also think we need to remember the flip side of this coin - the number of murders/deaths that result from actions taken in the name of some God or another.
I agree with you mcilroga, and having read many psychological studies on the issue, feel like telling Dr. Phil to stick it...
I too find Laymon to be sub-par (but everyone here knows that I'm a King girl, and people may consider him sub-par also).
I have only read Savage (barely got through it, could not form any kind of sympathy/empathy for the main character), and one about putting on a bracelet and.....Bodyrides...
