    Prolific Writers

Shakespeare cranked out a lot of work. I think most of it was pretty good.

Books you were forced to read at school!

I hated everything I had to read in school, but I love books now. There must be an explanation, but I'm not sure what it is.

    BMW confirms Villeneuve

"Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - - You also miss the sense of where you are going and why. " Interesting signature for a race fan.

How to set up story settings? And more.

If it's interesting, write it down. If it's boring, remove it. If it's good, edit it until it's great.

I'd like to hear the story.

    BMW confirms Villeneuve

I might do the racing school at Mosport. New owner, new location, but Jacques took lessons there many years ago. (I new I could get this thread back on topic.) The school is excellent.

    The Ethicist

Politicans shouldn't accept large cash "gifts" for obvious reason. I don't see why it should be OK for doctors.

    I *miss* Calvin and Hobbes

http://www.slate.com/id/2129373/ Calvin & Hobbes are both interesting character names. Two men with very different philosophies, but both were interested in morality and both ticked off the establishment.

Interesting biography. Are you Kuwaiti, just living there or just working there?

    Hunter S. Thompson

Just finished "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and loved it. Hunter the character is so out of control, but Hunter the writer is totally in control of the story. Very interesting and very funny.

    Top 20 Geek Novels

2 for school. But I'm not geeky enough to know for sure why LOTR didn't qualify. Written before 1932?

William Golding: Lord Of The Flies

Read it a long time ago, but I thought about it while watching some of the chaos being reported out of New Orleans.

    Michael Bailey: Palindrome Hannah

I don't know. Seems like an easy way to get a "better than Dan Brown" blurb. ;)

    Technology and the Mystery Genre

But I could never figure out why the CTU on 24 can track terrorists with satellites, but can't listen in on their cell phone calls.

    Technology and the Mystery Genre

There are lots of ways the gad buys can get around the technology. If there's no body, it's difficult to prove there was a murder. Especially if there's no blood. If you shoot someone from a distance, the only real evidence is ballistic. Guns don't float, so they are pretty easy to dispose...

    Artistic or Intelligent?

I've very fond of the old fashioned way of making babies. I'd stick with the tried and true method and leave the programming to someone else.
